The elections brought in ‘new faces’. There was Paul Moloch who was connected to the ‘Entitled’ but had his own balliwick and others, like Trudy Silber. She had probably confused the crowd because she looked like cotton candy but was made of steel.

Trudy was not capable of being cowed by Pharaoh, in fact, her reason for stepping forward was based a great deal on the megalomania of that unworthy, especially his rude treatment of Ratty.

Trudy and Paul decided, along with others, to fix the shul and it started rather cleverly.

Years ago, coming to shul on Sukkot, asking to help, the Hilcresters gave me a rag and a spray and sent me to dust the shul. I went in and cleaned every chair, downstairs and upstairs, did the bimah, then the taba, reaching as far as I could.

That was the last time the shul was cleaned.

Oh, Pharaoh had hired a guy, given him a house, free electricity, free water, a salary, in return for him cleaning the shul. As most of the ‘common people’ of Kaka, he knew how to control Pharaoh so took everything and did nothing.

Paul marched him into the Shul and had him clean every inch. The first time the guy ever did anything. And when he complained, Paul told him that his job was hanging by a thread.

Paul is not as easy to play as Pharaoh.

I met Trudy for dinner at my usual place and we discussed the scene. Trudy stated that Pharaoh is out forever, that there is no coming back for him. She also said that C.G. had gotten his termination and was fighting it.

I gave her a few insights into how the ‘Home’ is unrun, and hopefully, there will be a real change and the Shul will turn, in the right direction.
